Our Story

Our Story

In the thriving academic ecosystem of Pune, Sanjay Ghodawat School stands as a symbol of educational distinction, empathy, and holistic development-rooted in the enduring legacy of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG) and driven by a future-focused, human-centered vision.

The story began in 2009, when Shri Sanjay Ghodawat, an accomplished industrialist and visionary philanthropist, founded the Sanjay Ghodawat Education Foundation with a singular aim: to make world-class education accessible and affordable for every deserving child. What began with the establishment of Sanjay Ghodawat International School in Kolhapur has evolved into a powerful educational movement-encompassing Sanjay Ghodawat University and the growing network of SGI Schools in Kolhapur and Belagavi.

Having witnessed the impact of international education on his own children, Shri Ghodawat envisioned schools that could offer the same global exposure, academic excellence, and personal growth, but within a residential, value-based, and affordable environment. His mission was not only to educate minds-to shape hearts and build character.

Sanjay Ghodawat School, Pune, continues this legacy with distinction. Offering both the Cambridge International Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the school equips students to think critically, act compassionately, and lead responsibly in a globalized world. It champions a balanced approach-where academic achievement, emotional intelligence, and ethical leadership go hand in hand.

At the heart of this vision lies a deep commitment to empathy, service, and social responsibility-values that Shri Sanjay Ghodawat has long embodied. His philanthropic contributions, both personal and institutional, have touched countless lives. Through the Sou. Sushila Danchand Ghodawat Charitable Trust, the Group provides vital medical, educational, and social support to those most in need. The Acharya Shree Tulsi Blood Bank, run on a ‘no profit, no loss’ model, ranks among India’s top three, reflecting its excellence in healthcare infrastructure and care.

The Khivraj Ghodawat Charitable Trust manages the Shreemati Gangabai Khivraj Ghodawat Kanya Mahavidyalaya in Shirol, empowering over 5,000 girls from 52 villages since 1995. The group also supports the Lions Club Visually Disabled School in Miraj, donating its building and overseeing the daily management of education and holistic development for specially-abled children.

This spirit of service runs through every initiative-from planting over 250,000 trees across Maharashtra and Karnataka to setting up ICUs, donating operation theatres, constructing school buildings for the blind, and building community halls. These efforts are not just acts of charity-they are the pillars of a deeply embedded culture of giving back.

At Sanjay Ghodawat School, Pune, this culture is reflected in every aspect of student life. Children are taught to lead with conscience, think with clarity, and act with compassion. Community service, environmental responsibility, and social engagement are seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.

In every classroom and corridor, students are nurtured to be not just successful learners, but responsible global citizens. Because here, the future isn’t just built-it is built with character, care, and conviction.
