Sanjay Ghodawat International School Pune
At SGIS Pune, we view mealtimes as moments of connection, community, and care. Dining is not just about nourishment-it is an integral part of our boarding and day school life, supporting health, wellbeing, and companionship. Each day begins with the comforting tradition of morning togetherness —a warm cup of chocolate /milk—served in the Houses to give students a gentle start to their mornings. All main meals are served in the Central Dining Hall, where students and staff dine together. This shared space encourages interaction across year groups, deepens bonds, and nurtures a vibrant school culture. A relaxed Sunday brunch is a weekly highlight, offering a leisurely and informal dining experience over three hours. Nutritious mid-morning and evening snacks are provided daily to keep students energised and focused throughout their day. Additionally, the School Tuckshop, opens once a week, offers students the joy of occasional treats in a supervised and balanced manner.
Our menus are crafted in collaboration with a qualified nutritionist to ensure they are wholesome, diverse, and balanced, with dishes from a variety of Indian and global cuisines to suit every palate. Dining at SGIS also brings festive cheer and special traditions. Every term, each House hosts two celebratory feasts, bringing students together in joyful gatherings. Older students enjoy the added privilege of supervised town outings, where they explore Pune’s culinary delights—often choosing long-time student favourites! The Mess Committee, made up of students and staff, meets regularly with the Catering Manager. This ensures student feedback is heard and incorporated, empowering them to have a voice in the meals they enjoy every day. Whether it’s sharing a quiet breakfast, engaging in lively lunchtime conversations, or celebrating together at a House feast, dining at SGIS Pune is an experience that feeds both body and spirit.
