Counselling

At SGIS Pune, student wellbeing is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy. We are proud to have two qualified and experienced School Counsellors who play a pivotal role in supporting the emotional, social, and mental health of our students.

They provide confidential one-on-one guidance and support, as well as facilitate group sessions and workshops. Working closely with Tutors, House Parents, academic staff, and—where appropriate—parents, our Counsellors ensure that support is holistic and well-coordinated, while always upholding the highest standards of professional confidentiality.

Students are actively encouraged to reach out for individual appointments, and many find these sessions to be a valuable part of their personal growth and coping toolkit.

The Counselling Department has also developed a robust Life Skills Curriculum, spanning from the early years through to senior school. Delivered through regular classes, interactive workshops, and age-appropriate training modules, the programme equips students with essential skills for self-awareness, resilience, empathy, decision-making, and managing real-world challenges.

Student welfare at SGIS Pune is a collaborative responsibility, overseen by the Head (Pastoral), the House Masters and the Counsellors. Together, they meet regularly with the Head of School and House staff to ensure every child is safe, supported, and thriving in all dimensions of school life.
