The IB Diploma Programme is among the most prestigious pre-university courses in the World. It is A future-ready programme that builds students’ inquiring mindset, It is a two-year course and examinations are taken at the end of Grade 12. It is designed to provide a holistic approach to education. This approach nurtures not just academic excellence, but also civic responsibility, articulateness and international understanding. Very early streaming often leaves students at a disadvantage in a rapidly changing World. IBDP mandates a broad-based curriculum that covers all basic disciplines and also offers the opportunity for increased focus in chosen ones.
The Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.
Through the Diploma Programme (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service. The Diploma has been designed as a comprehensive curriculum and is based on the pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of many. Responsive to the demands of an interconnected world which demands critical thinking and problem solving, it is a uniquely balanced and challenging programme which prepares students for university and life beyond.
The IB Diploma is an international qualification of high academic standing recognised by universities in India, Britain, USA and further afield.
In the IBDP, pupils study six subjects in total: three at higher level and three at standard level. Pupils select one subject from each group 1 to 5 and either one from group 6 or an additional subject from groups 2 to 4 (see table below):

Pupils also take a course in the Theory of Knowledge, write an extended essay on a subject of their choice, and complete a programme of creativity, action and service.
The IB is assessed through a combination of formal examinations and coursework, which must be completed over the two years of the diploma programme. The highest grade in any subject is a 7; gaining a 7 in a higher level subject is a similar accomplishment to gaining an A* at A Level.
